The traditional combination of cointreau (orange) and amaretto (almond) with earl grey tea (bergamot) all happens to go incredibly well with blueberry and basil.

Here is a classic with a burst of real blueberry flavour.

This recipe does not really work sans alcohol, but adding less of each spirit still tastes amazing.

Hot Blueberry Tea Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2oz Blueberry Basil Mixer

  • 1oz cointreau

  • 1oz amaretto

  • Earl Grey Tea

  • Orange or lemon slice to garnish

Directions

  1. Boil water in a kettle or pot, to make a cup of tea in a mug.

  2. Add one tea bag, fill a cup with boiled water and let it steep for 5 minutes while you get the rest of the ingredients prepared.

  3. Fill two heat-proof brandy snifters with hot water and let them warm up for 1 minute.

  4. Pour out the water and add 1 oz of Blueberry Basil mixer to each glass.

  5. Add 1/2 oz cointreau and 1/2 oz amaretto to each glass (or less)

  6. Top with 2 oz of tea and an orange slice or lemon peel to garnish.

Typically there is nothing blue or berry about a traditional blueberry tea - but we think this recipe is way better.
