BLUEBERRY TEA WITH ACTUAL BLUEBERRY

THAT WHICH WAS NEITHER BLUE NOR BERRY IS NOW BOTH.

Typically there is nothing blue or berry about a traditional blueberry tea. It’s just hot booze and tea. Which is delicious.

The traditional combination of cointreau (orange) and amaretto (almond) with earl grey tea (bergamot) all happen to go incredibly well with blueberry and basil.

Here is a classic with a burst of real blueberry flavour.

MAKES 2 hot COCKTAILS

  • 2 oz Blueberry Basil Mixer

  • 1 oz cointreau

  • 1 oz amaretto

  • Earl grey tea (Orange pekoe is fine in a pinch)

  • Orange slices to garnish

Boil water in a kettle or pot, to make a cup of tea in a mug.

Add one tea bag, fill a cup with boiled water and let it steep for 5 minutes while you get the rest of the ingredients prepared.

Fill two heat-proof brandy snifters with hot water and let them warm up for 1 minute.

Pour out the water and add 1 oz of Blueberry Basil mixer to each glass.

Add 1/2 oz cointreau and 1/2 oz amaretto to each glass.

Top with 2 oz of tea and an orange slice to garnish.
