President Teddy “Bull Moose” Roosevelt was a well-known teetotaler (alcohol-free) except for his one vice: A classic Mint Julep (bourbon, sugar, mint, lemon).
Teddy was a major outdoor enthusiast and established the American National Park system. So, we are big fans of that.
We think he would love the addition of citrusy bright Spruce Tip to his favourite cocktail.
In honour of Teddy and all the National Parks around the world here is a great cocktail to enjoy outdoors.
MAKES 1 COCKTAIL
1 oz bourbon
1 oz Lumberjack Lemonade Mixer
4-6 mint leaves, for garnish
In a tin cup or a fancy glass, muddle the mint leaves to release their aroma. Add the whiskey and Lumberjack Lemonade Mixer. Top with ice and give it a good stir.
The key to a good julep is letting the ice melt. So take a seat and enjoy the scenery before your first delicious sip.
